Pool: Relax and enjoy our new resort style salt water pool and hot tub. The pool features a beach entry, waterfall, water benches, and hot tub with silver falls. The pool is surrounded by cool deck and a Tennessee Stone retaining wall and overlooks the pasture and woods. Private and relaxing, enjoy.

40 acres: Cross Timber Ranch is situated on 40 acres of some of the nicest land in beautiful Van Zandt County. The acreage is a wonderful mix of meadows, woods, pastures, and two ponds. Tall, majestic oaks, cedars, and other trees adorn the property. You are welcome to walk and explore the acreage at your leisure. Grab a book and a blanket and relax under a tall oak or by one of the ponds! We only ask that any gates that you open and walk through that you close and latch again and any gates that are open are left that way. We have certain pastures and areas for certain animals. The emus, donkeys, peafowl, and others are friendly and timid and offer no harm.

Library: We offer a small library of books, videos, dvds, and board games for your enjoyment. There are DVD Blueray players in the Living Room, Captain’s Quarters, Cardinal Room, Grand Suite, as well as downstairs in the Carriage House.

Parlor: Finished in antique wood paneling, this room with a fireplace and small library is the perfect place to sit and relax with a book, take a nap, visit with friends, or play a board game.

Living Room: A grand 3 story room with a fireplace, large screen TV, and a bar area. Enjoy a movie, HD TV, or just gather with friends.

Dining: We proudly offer three choices for dining, the Formal Dining Room, the informal Breakfast Nook off the kitchen, and of course Poolside. We assume most guests will want to utilize the Formal Dining Room and Poolside, but if you have other wishes, let us know and we will do what we can to accommodate you.

Weddings and Receptions: We are now fully prepared to host your wedding and/or your reception for up to 100 people. Please contact us for details. Full and partial packages available.

Horse Boarding: Stay with us and your horse can stay also! We have 3 to 4, 12’x12’ horse stalls with clay floors and water available. We may also have outdoor pasture/pen space available. You may also set up your own panels/pens. This is ideal for individuals traveling cross country with horses and needing a “horse motel.” You provide the hay, feed, and shavings and we will clean up the mess. Hay and shavings are also available. Advance notice required. Call ahead for availability. Please see the Rates and Policies Page for details.

Alcohol/Beverages: Most of Van Zandt County and Ben Wheeler are dry for purchasing package goods, especially liquor. Beer & wine are available in a few areas. Ben Wheeler now has two bars, which are private clubs that are open to the public. The Forge Bistro and Moore’s Store. We have complimentary sodas, juices, water, and ice available. If you do wish to enjoy or partake in libations, we do allow you to bring your own and enjoy in moderation. Please remember though, the nearest place to buy anything but beer and wine is over 30 miles away. So remember to plan ahead!
